Exaggerated claims were previously discussed in
article 8 however if you were recently approached and persuaded that
the Contact Them program offered a sure-fire mechanism by which you
could earn a healthy income don't despair, you are not alone. A friend
of mine who I shall refer to simply as 'Disappointed of
Essex' also lost out.
One of the Contact Them emails goes like this:-
|
'Get paid up to $4,800/month to add a
banner ad on your website
The famous network ContactThem just offered to pay any
website owner
up to $4,800/month to show their banner ad on their website!
And listen to this: Even if you choose to remove their
banner ad from
your website after one month of exposure, they'll keep on
paying you
that amount every month afterward!' |
Sound too good to be true? Sure it does and with good reason.
ContactThem is a super spam program that just last week disappeared
leaving many members owed cash. The attraction of the software offered
an awesome proposition that in theory possessed the potential for anyone
who signed up to the program to become wealthy. Additionally, and
importantly, the way the program was broadcast also suggested that
anyone who joined would benefit and because the Contact Them offers
appeared so fabulous it was a 'no brainer' that anyone who received an
email would realise they could not afford to miss.
Unfortunately though, as with a host of other fabulous sounding Internet
opportunities, ContactThem is just another example of a failed approach
to online promotions because it exceeds global acceptability.
